Happy Anniversary To Us

Today is our anniversary. We have been married for 14 years. I honestly can't believe we have been married for that long. It seems like yesterday was our wedding day. Andy had to work all weekend so we couldn't go away or do something big but we did go out to dinner last night. I surprised Andy and took him to Ruth's Chris steakhouse and it was so much fun. It was our first time going there and it was amazing. They really made it special for us. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. It has been a wonderful 14 years and I am looking forward to many more years to come. Happy Anniversary!

Shamrock Hunt

For family night this week we had a shamrock hunt. I got the idea from secrets of a super mommy blog. We invited our good friends the brown family over for the evening. What I did was hide 12 shamrock's around the house. Each shamrock had a number and I had 12 bags that matched each number. In each bag was something "green". Some bags were more "Lucky" than others. Some of the items I put into the bags were gum, dollar bill, 2 dollar bill, sour candy, green apples, green suckers and limes. The kids loved this activity. Andy hid the shamrocks so it took the kids a little while to find them all. After they found them they got to trade numbers with each other if they wanted to before they opened their bags. Each kid was able to get 2 shamrocks. We had shamrock cookies for dessert with green punch. We had a great night.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today we had fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day. In the past I usually don't do anything special to celebrate St. Patrick's day other than dressing my kids in green, but this year I wanted to make it more fun for the kids. We had a whole day full of "Green" to celebrate St. Patty's day. For breakfast the kids ate Lucky charms. They thought that was fun because it turned their milk "green". I also gave each of them a "green" head band and lay. They all wore them to school. For dinner we had a "green" dinner. This was so much fun that I think I will be doing this every year. For the menu we had chicken wraps with "green" tortillas, "green" salad, "green" beans and "green" punch. For dessert I made a key lime cake. The girls helped me decorate our dinner table with "green" decorations. We had a great day.

Romeo and Juliet

This year Abby was the only one of my girls who wanted to keep taking dance. The last few years all 3 girls took dance but this year Haylee and Megan decided they wanted to pursue other interest. Haylee started taking Violin and Megan started Piano lessons. Abby is my little dancer. She loves to dance. This year we started her in a new dance company called Creative Arts Academy. I am really impressed with this dance group compared to the one we were with the past couple of years. The teachers are wonderful and overly qualified. This past week Abby had her ballet recital. They did Romeo and Juliet and it was wonderful. I was impressed how well they portrayed the whole play as a ballet. All the dancers did such a great job and I could tell they worked so hard. Abby loved performing and I am so proud of her. Here are a few pictures of the event. Sorry some of them are blurry.

This one is my favorite

Our Cruise

A few week ago Andy and I went on the western Caribbean cruise. We went with some good friends of ours Chris and Tracie Hardy. We had so much fun. The port of calls that we went to were Cozumel, Belize, Roatan Honduras and Costa Maya. In Cozumel we went Snorkeling and it was great. We went out by boat to 3 different reefs. Belize we went cave tubing through 3 different caves. That was quite an adventure but a lot of fun. Roatan Honduras was our favorite place. It is so gorgeous there. We had a local tour guide take us on a tour of the island. They also took us Zip lining. That was so much fun. I was nervous at first because I am afraid of heights but I loosened up and had a blast. After Zip lining they took us snorkeling. The water was so blue and pretty. I think Costa Maya was my second favorite place. We took a bike ride to a private beach and went Kayaking in the ocean. The weather was wonderful. We also did lots of shopping at all the stops which is always so much fun. Overall we had a great vacation and can't wait to go again. We went without our kids but I think next time we want to try and take our kids. Haylee and Megan have been really wanting to go on a cruise and I think now that they our getting older it would be fun to take them.

This is our ship. We went on the Carnival Dream. It's the newest carnival ship.
On our ship they were filming a movie all week long. The Movie is called "Alvin and the Chipmonks Chipwrecked." It was fun to watch them film some of the scenes.

My First Blog Post

Well, I finally started my own blog. I love reading blogs and have always wanted to start my own blog but I was nervous. After talking to many of my family and friends they convinced me that it was not hard to get started. They were right it was actually pretty easy. I am still learning and I'm sure I will get better as time time goes on but at least I'm started. The main reason I wanted to start a blog was to start documenting all the precious moments in my family's life. I have never really kept a journal and I use to scrapbook a little but now that I have 4 kids I don't have time for that anymore. So hopefully starting this blog will be easier for me to keep a document about my life. So, for my first post I decided to tell a little about my family and what we are all up to right now. So here it goes.

The Love Birds

Andy and I have been married for almost 14 years. WOW, I can't believe it has been that long. We have 4 amazing kids. Haylee, Megan, Abby and Ethan. Andy works for Skywest Airlines as a aircraft mechanic. He LOVES his job. He has worked for Skywest for 6 years now. I am so glad he enjoys his profession. I work part time as a RN for IHC. I work for the float pool department as a Maternity Nurse. I have worked for them about 3 1/2 years. I also love my job. It is very flexible and allows for me to work around Andy's work schedule so my kids always have 1 parent home with them.

Haylee

Haylee is the oldest. She is almost 12 years old and is in the 6th grade. She started learning to play the violin this year and is doing really well. She loves to be around her friends, listen to music, play her Nintendo DS and help her mom out in the kitchen. She has started to babysit this year and does a great job. She loves to babysit her younger siblings while Andy and I go on a date. she is a great help especially with her younger brother Ethan.

Megan

Megan is the second oldest. She is 9 years old and in the 4th grade. She loves to dance, listen to her MP3 player, play her Nintendo DS, swim and play with her friends. Some of her favorite things are horses, Twighlight movies and Chinese food. She started piano lessons this year and loves it.

Abby

Abby is the 3rd girl. She is 6 years old and in kindergarten this year. She is taking ballet and loves to dance. She loves horses, swimming, playing with her leapster, riding her bike and playing with her big sisters. Her favorite color is blue. She has such a bubbly personality and is always smiling.

Ethan

Ethan is 2 years old and the youngest. He is the only boy and is spoiled by his 3 older sisters. He loves to run, jump, play outside, and wrestle with Dad. Some of his favorite things are trains, airplanes, trucks, and books. He keeps us very busy but we love having him in our family.
